ENVIROTACK Technical Bulletin

ENVIROTACK is a non-toxic biodegradable crosslinked tackifier that is blended from natural guar, psyllium gum and natural dispersal agents and mineral activators.
ENVIROTACK disperses, dissolves and thickens rapidly in water and remains in uniform suspension under agitation. Slowly add ENVIROTACK to the tank once the agitator blades are covered with water and run the agitator to mix the product into solution while the tank is filling. Do not dump, as lumping may occur. Full Hydration will take 30-45 min. When applied ENVIROTACK bonds the fibres and other materials to form an erosion resistant mat.

HydroMulching with ENVIROTACK
ENVIROTACK can be used as a tackifier for soil stabilisation with all wood cellulose mulch products. ENVIROTACK recommended application rates are as listed below using mulch rates of 1500 to 2000 kg per hectare.
Slope: Eg. 1 to 2
Flat 1 to 4 1 to 3 1 to 21 to 1
Kg/Hectare:
40
45
50
60
70

StrawMulching with ENVIROTACK
ENVIROTACK can be used as a straw tackifier with or without mulch. When used without mulch, add 7 kg of ENVIROTACK per 1000 litres of water.

The recommended application rate is 1 litre per sq metre

When used with mulch, add 4 kg of ENVIROTACK with 30 - 40 kg of mulch per 1000 litres of water.

The recommended application rate is 2 litres per sq metre

The second method is preferred because the tracer of mulch makes the spray pattern more visible and results in a more uniform application with matrix strength increased by the presence of fibres.

ENVIROTACK as a Dust Suppressant

ENVIROTACK can be used as a Dust Suppressant. We recommend ENVIROTACK should be applied at a rate of 6 kg per 1000 litres of water, to cover 1000 sq metres

Envirotack is packaged in 10 or 20 kilogram woven plastic lined bags.

WARNING!!!
ENVIROTACK is pH sensitive and therefore should not be batched with excessive amounts of fertilizer or lime, as this will inhibit performance of the product.

7.       Health Hazard Data

The primary health hazard posed by this product is thought to be due to exposure to dust.

Acute health Hazards Signs and Symptoms of Exposure/Emergency and First-Aid Procedures:

INGESTION:  Not applicable under normal use.

EYE CONTACT:  Dust may mechanically irritate the eyes, resulting in redness or watering.  Treat dust in eye as foreign object.  Flush with water to remove dust particle.  Get medical help if irritation persists.

SKIN CONTACT:  May cause dryness.  Wash skin with soap and water.  Use a suitable skin lotion.

SKIN ABSORBTION:  Not known to occur.

INHALATION:  Excessive concentration or dust may cause unpleasant deposit/obstruction in the nasal passages, resulting in dry cough and runny nose.  Remove to fresh air.  Get medical help if persistent irritation, severe coughing, or breathing difficulty occurs.

Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure

Like any dust.  ENVIROTACK may aggravate pre existing respiratory conditions or allergies.
